Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. Love this.. I’ve spent most of the winter at the driving range and needed this.

  2. this is good and informative…..I am looking to taking up golf in my ahem mid-forties lol

  3. When I started practicing like I played I got better. Hit like you’re playing a round of golf. Driver, 5 iron. Driver 7 iron. 3 wood pitching wedge. I’d also try to remember the anxiety of the first tee and hit balls feeling nervous. That really helped me. What a great video !!!

  4. My local range has installed toptracer, and I have really found that playing the simulated courses has really helped my game. I cycle through the clubs in my bag like I would on the course, the “chip putting” has dramatically increased my 40 yard pitch accuracy, and it’s just plain fun!

  5. Great video I appreciate the breakdown of a practice session into 3 parts

  6. I use a random number generator when out on the range. Usually with numbers representing targets and play a little game to see weather I can beat my previous scores.

  7. Thank you so much for sharing. I needed this never knew how to practice correctly

  8. Step one find a swing step two accept that it's hideous step three do what you can with what you got step four better bring a few extra balls, looking a little wild out there 😅🤷‍♂️ but I'm not professional or anything

  9. I'm going to the range today after work. I always start off with a pitching wedge.

  10. I thought it was just me that needed to hit a decent shot for it to be my final shot and close the session.

  11. I know you probably won't see this Rick by this video was great. Thank you. Gave me a lot more structure to my practice.

  12. Love this. When I move to stage 3 I picture the holes I am about to play. First hole dogleg left, where is my target. After the shot, where am I? Need to hit an 8 iron to the green. Missed the green, now have a 20 yard chip. Move to the second hole and repeat. Or honestly I think of the 3 holes I find most challenging and play them. I hate the range, love the course, and this helps me to focus.

  13. Fantastic, thank you! As a classical guitar teacher, I understand how vital structure is to making practice pay off. But I don't always know how to apply it to golf. QUESTION for you Rick (or anybody, really), if you happen to come across this: I'm currently in the midst of a number of changes including a new grip, inside-out drills to fight over-the-top, and getting a more extension from a straighter left arm. It's enough to make me want to dedicate more to section 1, the technical stuff, at the expensive of one the other portions. What do you think?

  14. Omg…i did this the other day without even watching this video. I was focusing on alot on my setup working on grip. It felt like my best time ever at a driving range. I used a good amount of different clubs and i found even my confidence on irons that i don't use all the time go actually up.

  15. This video is really helpful!

I found new iOS app Golfboy and watch this videos.
    Thanks

  16. I have no idea why I keep topping and shanking so badly on my 60-100yd shots. Well, I know what’s wrong, but my swing just doesn’t feel as natural as it used to now that I’m concentrating so much on preventing these shanks or topping it. I’m at the point where my stance for these shots just feels unnatural and uncomfortable too.
